Smoke
Outlook: Chetco Bar Fire, Rogue River –
Siskiyou NF
Issued for: Wednesday, August
2, 2017
Air Resource Advisor: Duncan
Leao (dleao@fs.fed.us)
Smoke:
Smoke will remain in the vicinity of the Chetco Bar
fire, drifting primarily to the southwest then southeast later in the day. The air quality index in communities around
the fires will be good including Cave Junction, Agness, Gold Beach, and
Brookings. Cave Junction and Grants
Pass may see periods of moderate as a result of smoke from the Chetco Bar and
adjacent fires in southern Oregon. Regional
fires in S. Oregon and N. California will add to increased regional haze but
impacts locally are expected to be minimal.
Fire:
Fire activity yesterday was minimal, however no
data was reported on fire growth.
Acreage remains slightly above 2,200 acres. Fire activity today and tomorrow
is expected to remain about the same or be slightly increased as a result of high
temperatures and low relative humidity.
A red flag warning is issued in the area around the fire.
Other: Blanket Creek and adjacent
fires will have a separate report today. Brookings smoke monitor is showing
intermittent data. Maintenance will
occur on this monitor in the next few days.
