Smoke Forecast for Chetco Bar Fire -- July 28, 2017

Smoke Outlook:  Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest

Smoke: Smoke will remain in the vicinity of the Chetco Bar fire again today, drifting west in the morning and east in the afternoon, but remaining in the high country.  The morning inversion over the fire will break up around 9:00 am.  Air quality in communities around the fire will be good including Cave Junction, Agness, Gold Beach, and Brookings. 

Smoke from the Blanket Creek fire will be localized in the morning, then drift east across Crater Lake National Park into the Upper Klamath Basin in the afternoon and evening. 

Smoke from the Orleans Complex in Northern California may be visible today from Cave Junction, Medford, or Brookings.

Fire: Chetco Bar fire activity continues to be minimal, growing 98 acres yesterday to 2091 acres.  Fire activity today and tomorrow is also expected to be light. 

The Blanket Creek fire is 181 acres in size.  The fire is expected to be active today.
