Smoke Forecast Outlook -  Chetco Bar Fire

Synopsis

Smoke: Smoke will remain in the vicinity of the fire again today, drifting west in the morning and east in the afternoon, but remaining in the high country.  The morning inversion over the fire will break up around 9:00 am.  Air quality will be good in Grants Pass, Cave Junction and the Illinois Valley, Agness, Gold Beach, and Brookings.  Light smoke may be present briefly in Brookings Friday morning as it drifts overnight farther down the Chetco drainage than it has the past couple of days.

Fire: Chetco Bar Fire activity continues to be minimal, growing 155 acres yesterday, mostly on the east side, to 1995 acres.  Fire activity today and tomorrow is also expected to be light.
